FACTORY TRAINING & INSTALLATION

Training Overview

Ensuring Adherence to the Manufacturer's Specifications

EnviroGuard specializes in training companies on the installation and maintenance of all EnviroGuard containment systems and safety products. Utilizing a comprehensive series of training classes and hands-on workshops, technicians will attain the knowledge necessary to become a factory-authorized installer. EnviroGuard's training programs, along with a proactive position on stationary lead acid battery (SLAB) safety and sites compliance, are designed to meet all local, state, and federal regulations for stationary lead acid battery charging and storage facilities.

EnviroGuard's dedicated interest in the safety and compliance of all those involved in daily battery room operations has driven them to maintain strict requirements for installing the only patented, UL-listed containment systems currently available. This makes EnviroGuard the industry leader in stationary battery compliance.

Installation Training

Training seminars are conducted over a 2-day period.

  • Day 1 — Approximately 9 hours of classroom instruction along with visual aides.
  • Day 2 — The second day is comprehensive "hands on" training and testing.

Once a company has demonstrated the desire to enroll technicians into a seminar, a database for that company is built. This level of membership is known as an "Approved Installation Facility Member" (AIFM). The AIFM receives membership documentation along with the certification of its first trained technician.

The most popular and cost-effective program is the "Instruct the Instructor" seminar held in Montclair, California. This allows technicians to be trained as installation specialists, as well as instructors for their own company. There are 2 levels of installation certification. Level 1 technicians are authorized to install EnviroGuard where the rack, stack, or cabinet has not yet been installed. Level 2 technicians are schooled in the advanced techniques for installing EnviroGuard around existing racks, stacks, and cabinets.

All technicians are trained with an emphasis on quality, uniformity, professionalism and safety, as well as on the complete understanding that at any time the system they install must pass a 100% liquid-tight water test. This is one of the many challenges that separates EnviroGuard's Spill Containment from the competition's.

The next phase is the "Official Site Certifications" applications and warranty program. Technicians are required to fill out a series of forms and provide digital documentation of the installation. EnviroGuard, the instructor and the lead installer evaluate this information for quality assurance and uniformity. By this method the level of site compliance is established.

Unlike any other spill containment system available, EnviroGuard is able to offer a continuing warranty program with the assistance of the installation company. Conducting a mandatory yearly inspection of the containment system and peripheral safety equipment does this. All of the required documentation and photographs are resubmitted for evaluation and, upon acceptance, a 1-year extension is given to that warranty. This process can continue year after year.

Installation Support

EnviroGuard has implemented a plan specifically for retrofit installations that assists the sales team and installers in correctly evaluating the level of difficulty involved. Checklists are provided, as well as photographs of the site to be contained. Working as a team, the best scenario for the installation is discussed and implemented. The number one priority is that the retrofit is 100% liquid-tight and safety-compliant.

This support structure extends to any and all products, as well as technical information, codes, regulations, CAD drawings and access to the EnviroGuard library. This comprehensive program is unmatched. When a customer purchases EnviroGuard Spill Containment and Safety products they can be assured of the following:

  • Factory authorized and trained professionals performing the installation correctly per set-up instructions.
  • That the system will be 100% liquid-tight and compliant
  • Multi-company involvement in planning and maintenance of the systems
  • That they will know exactly at what level of compliance their facilities are operating, according to federal, state and local regulations
